Lyme Doctor visit

I went to my Lyme doctor today, the visit wasn’t overly encouraging. It looks like treatment will definitively be extended beyond the original six months we had hoped for. Basically, I haven’t improved a whole lot since I started treatment in December. My energy level has improved, but the pain hasn’t, which means I need to take antibiotics for longer. I’m not excited about that, but I keep reminding myself that at least there IS a treatment, and that is a good thing.

My doctor is located in the Galleria area of Houston, which if you not familiar with Houston, is somewhat like another downtown, so getting there is always an experience. I have to put on calming music, otherwise my blood pressure will be sky high by the time I get to the Dr.  As I  drove down the freeway at the rate of 20 mph, I couldn’t help but feel somewhat like an ant in a colony of bugs, scuttling along to get where they need to go. Or perhaps a better analogy would be a herd of cattle being let to the slaughterhouse?

  1. I know that being chronically ill has been horrible for you. Hold on to the fact that there is treatment, and that someday you will be cured, and be a normal person. I love you.
