Pain Relief With Oska Pulse

Pain relief with Oska Pulse

Much of my battle with chronic illness has been defined by my never-ending quest to reduce my pain levels. As pain patients are continually demonized by doctors and society pain medicine is harder and harder to get no matter how legitimate your pain is. Because of this, I’ve tried several different devices that aim at reducing pain levels. This time I had a chance to try Oksa Pulse. Oska Pulse is a wearable pain-relief remedy developed to reduce muscle stiffness and inflammation, as well as to help ease chronic pain and increase mobility.  It is a non-invasive, drug-free solution to the pain that has no known side effects.

I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.

How does Oska Pulse work?

Oska Pulse is not a TENS unit, instead, it uses eTEC pulse technology. This uses pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapeutic technology which takes advantage of the electronically sensitive nature of the human body and a variety of different yet similar waveforms and frequencies to activate your body’s natural healing processes at a cellular level.

The delivery method Oska Pulse uses is called  “Sequential Protocol Programming.” It uses four frequencies specifically related to muscle ease, bone repair, capillary dilation, and pain reduction. Oska Pulse helps release the body’s endorphins thereby reducing pain and promoting an increased range of motion. By dilating blood vessels, it reduces inflammation. The increased oxygen-rich blood flow promotes muscle recovery.

How do you use Oska Pulse?

Oska Pulse is simple to use as it comes already assembled. When you receive your Oska Pulse it comes with:

  • the device
  • one large compression strap
  • USB cable
  • User manual

Oska Pulse is simple to charge as it uses a standard USB. One charged battery lasted me through quite a few uses which were convenient. Oska Pulse runs in 30-minute sessions that are very easy to manage. You simply place Oska Pulse at the sight of pain, click the button to turn it on, and then 30 minutes later it turns off automatically. To maximize pain relief multiple 30-minute sessions are suggested within a 24-hour period. The compression strap that comes with Oska Pulse allows for easy placement of the device so I didn’t have any trouble getting it to stay at the site of pain.  Oska Pulse is completely non-invasive, it doesn’t even vibrate as a TENS unit does. It does light up to indicate the device is on and working.

My experience with Oska Pulse

I tried Oska Pulse in two different places. I first tried it on my calves because those are probably the most painful parts of my body. After several uses, I didn’t notice much of a difference, so I switched the device to my shoulder. The pain in my shoulder seemed to lessen quickly. I continued to use it on my shoulder a couple of times a day for the next few weeks, and my pain continually decreased. I wouldn’t compare the pain relief to what I get from pain medicine, it’s not that drastic. Rather, it’s a slow decrease in pain over time.

At $399 Oska Pulse does not come cheap, however, unlike many TENS devices, there are no regular replacement costs as there are no electrodes to wear out. Oska Pulse does offer a 90-day money-back guarantee that includes all taxes, shipping, and a return label to their factory if you are in the US.
