Inadequate pain research

There is not enough research being done about pain and how to treat it. Only 1% of NIH’s funding is directed towards pain research even though it’s responsible for 10% of health care spending. I might be more sympathetic to the crusade to rid the world of harmful pain killers if there were some viable alternatives.   As someone in constant pain, it boggles my mind that we have done as much as we have to alleviate the body of many sicknesses, but are still looking for adequate ways to treat pain. Millions and millions suffer from chronic pain, maybe we should be looking for a better solution. Read about it here.
