Eating for chronic illness- homemade taco seasoning

I’ve been trying to eat as healthy as I can lately, which has meant cutting out as much processed and packaged food as possible. Taco seasoning is something that we use a lot, but the store stuff is ridiculously expensive and has tons of sodium and MSG, so I started making my own. Once I started making it I couldn’t believe how easy it was and I wished I had started doing it a lot time ago.

Taco Seasoning

2 Tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tsp paprika
1 Tbsp cumin
2 1/2 tsp salt (I use sea salt)
2 tsp pepper

– Just mix together and store in an airtight container and you’re done! I use about 2 tbsp per lb of meat.
– Add around 3/4 cup water to the beef and seasoning mixture if you like it more “saucy” like I do.
