I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.
I’ve long been interested in trying a CBD tincture but haven’t had the chance until now. Liberty Lixir gave me my first opportunity to see how CBD tincture could affect my pain, anxiety, and fatigue levels. I’ve also been long been confused about CBD products and how they work for people with chronic illness, so having a chance to review one helped to clear some of that up for me.
What is CBD?
CBD (Cannabidiol) is a substance found in a variety of plants and other sources, usually derived from hemp. Recent scientific studies have shown that CBD has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-anxiety properties without the psychoactive effects that come from THC. In other words, you can’t get high off CBD. However CBD does appear to reduce stress and anxiety and produce a general feeling of calm and well-being. CBD can treat disease by reducing inflammation as well as help prevent disease by strengthening the immune system.
What is Liberty Lixir?
Liberty Lixir is a powerful all-natural CBD tincture that has three ingredients: CBD, cocunut oil, and Vitamin E. . It contains 1,000mg CBD in a 30ml bottle and dispenses 6.7mg CBD per pump and is designed to aid stress, anxiety, sleep, pain, and inflammation. To use it you put it under your tongue for at least 60 seconds (but as long as possible) before swallowing so it can be absorbed into your bloodstream. The dosage needed for every person is different, but the average daily dosage is about 3-5 pumps every 4-6 hours as needed. Most people notice the effects between 5-45 minutes after ingestion. It only has three ingredients: CBD, coconut oil, and Vitamin E.
For more information about Liberty Lixir the company shares the following, “Isolate CBD is refined an extraction process which removes all of the terpenes and trace cannabinoids associated with CBD. This results in a colorless crystalline extract. Since organic coconut oil is also colorless, when the two ingredients are mixed together, the result is a colorless, if highly potent, fluid CBD product.”
My experience with Liberty Lixir
To me, this tasted very similar to coconut oil so it was not a big deal to let it sit under my tongue for 60 seconds. If you hate coconut oil though, it may be more difficult. Overall, it was easy to take and it was nice to have something that was not another pill. For me it seemed to help with my anxiety level the most. About 15 minutes after I took it I could feel myself relaxing a little bit. Because my muscles were relaxing easier, I do think it helped lower my pain levels slightly. I wouldn’t call it a magic cure, but it did make a noticeable difference. I did not notice that it helped me sleep, but that’s not a surprise because nothing helps me sleep.
I would recommend Liberty Lixir to anyone looking to try natural pain relief or CBD products. If you’re interested in giving it a try you can go their website and use the code CHRONICMOM to save 10%.
